2. Five Night Accommodation

Registration starts at 4:00pm on March 19, 2011 and check out must be before 11am, March 24, 2011. Kalani offers a range of accommodation to suit every budget and need. The accommodations are simple and comfortable, filled with art, but without televisions or phones, making it the perfect place to get away and focus on personal wellbeing. Kalani is located in a tropical jungle overlooking the spectacular coast, and the accommodations have more screens than windows in order to improve airflow and views. The flora and fauna are diverse and fascinating inviting the guest to respectfully commune with nature and the other guests. Lodge - The three two-level lodges or Hales (pronounced Ha'-lay, Hawaiian for "house" or "lodge") house several rooms on each floor with access to common areas on both levels which are sometimes used for classes. Rooms are approximately 200 square-feet with twin, queen, or king beds, shared or private bath, fan, and a garden vista. Hales 3 & 4 include access to an adjoining studio with a limited kitchen (sink, refrigerator, microwave) and an upstairs meeting area. Hale 1 has no kitchen facilities but features garden lanais (verandas), hammocks and native ohia floors.

Cottage - Cottages are available with ocean and forest vista options offering private and charming places to get away and relax! Queen or King bed and Queen futon, private bath, fan, mini fridge, jungle vista. Approximately 250 - 400 square-feet. 

Tree Houses - Houses are separate spacious units, on two levels, nestled under the cool shade of a large Monkeypod Tree, enhanced by views of pasture and glimpses of sea through a coastal grove of native Kamani (mahogany) and coconut palms. King bed, private bath, fan, mini fridge, ocean and horse pasture vistas. Approximately 500 square-feet.

3. Activities and Facility

All accommodations include access to the volley ball court, pool, sauna and jacuzzi. The low-chlorine 25 meter half-Olympic pool is available for relaxation and exercise. Please note it is a clothing optional pool.  Hula basics and volleyball are free to everyone.

4. Kalani Cuisine

All accommodations include three island buffet meals a day, starting March 19, 2011 at dinner and ending March 24, 2011 at lunch. The Kalani chefs will accommodate special dietary needs. Please notify the “Quantum Leap in Paradise” staff before February 1, 2011 if you have special dietary needs.

Three times a day, guests and staff are summoned by the call of the conch to dine at the open-air lanai (veranda). At this central gathering place, you can experience the daily rhythms of assembly and departure reminiscent of ancient village life. Kalani’s cuisine encompasses a variety of styles including Thai, Indian and Italian. Kalani chefs have extensive training and a common interest in creating healthful and delicious meals. Kalani offers the abundance of Hawaii by serving local tropical fruits and vegetables and fresh caught fish. Seafood is often served at dinner (chicken and beef are served occasionally), and vegetarians are well cared for. Most importantly, our chefs firmly believe that the care and love invested in the cuisine is transmitted to the diner, and everything is prepared with aloha. Hawaiian Full Moon Ceremony and Vernal Equinox “First Light” Hawaiian Ceremony - The sacred full moon and the vernal equinox ceremonies will be offered at first light by Native Hawaiian Elders in conjunction with our “Quantum Leap in Paradise” facilitators.  

 “First Light” Meditations - In the Hawaiian culture, the morning's first light signifies a time of great power when the day's fate is yet to be determined. Additionally, not only are we blessed by the opportunity to witness First Light, from our perspective on the Big Island it is the moment that First Light touches any of the Hawaiian Islands. You will have the opportunity to enjoy meditational time each morning during this sacred empowering island time.

Sacred Hula - We have the honor and delight to offer the Sacred Hula with Kumu (teacher) and Kahu (minister) Mahalopua Brenda Ignacio. She gives the “Quantum Leap in Paradise” participants this message, “A’a I ka hula, waiho ka hilahila I ka hale” , “When one wants to dance the hula, bashfulness should be left at home.” She will be our sacred guide on a extraordinary journey as we visit Hawaii’s Sacred Dance and Music. Kumu Brenda teaches us that, “The hula and Hawaiian music connects us with the Creator, mankind and nature.   It seeks to express gratitude and praise for the spiritual power and love that exists in these islands.  The hula is revered and respected in wide circles, and brings lokahi, or unity. It will be with joy and honor that I share some of the history of the hula as well as dance for and assist participants to awaken their own inner dance .... the sacred dance of Hawaii!”

Full Day Hawaii Volcano National Park - We have chosen the extraordinary Full Day Hawaii Volcano National Park Adventure for our sacred Quantum Leap in Paradise intensive. Our guides will show us the area’s highlights during easy short walks through the park. We will explore the summit of Kilauea, the world’s most active volcano; enjoy a sack lunch at the edge of a majestic caldera, visit the Halemaumau Crater, the sacred home of Pele, goddess of Hawaii’s volcanoes. You will also experience steam vents, sulfur banks, rain forests, lava tubes, petro glyphs and much more. You will need supportive shoes, light jacket, long pants. It can be chilly at the 4500 feet elevation.

Pele Sacred Ceremony - The Sacred Pele ceremony will be offered by Native Hawaiian Elders in conjunction with our “Quantum Leap in Paradise” facilitators during our Volcano National Park Adventure.

Lava Flow Special Cultural Adventure and Sacred Sunset Lava Flow Ceremony. We have chosen to end our full day adventure with a rare opportunity, to experience and do ceremony at the extraordinary Native Hawaiian Lava. The Native Hawaii Lava is the only personally guided Eco-Tour 100% owned and operated by Native Hawaiians who live within 5 miles of the world famous Kalapana Lava Flows, on the cusp of  Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Please know that you will be in the company of Hawaiians whose families have nurtured this `āina for many, many generations, and whom today are proud to share a respectful, culturally authentic visit to this place that is so special to the Hawaiian people. This is an extra special treat due to the fact that this is a protected area and access can only be arranged by the Kalani Retreat guides. 

Sacred Hawaiian Sites Tour We have chosen a half day Sacred Hawaiian Sites tour with Aunty Lynda. She will be our native guide for three hours as we visit sacred sites and learn the sacred island history and lore. She will provide a beautiful way to glimpse and honor the Hawaiian elders, people, places, values, spirituality and island times giving us a rare opportunity to connect to the native community.  Auntie Lynda has access to these sacred sites and permission to take us there through the Kawaiokalehua Foundation. She is V.P. of the group that stewards the Monarchy Lands, lands of the Hawaiian Ali'i (royalty).

Our journey will include five sacred places within four miles. We will visit Haine Ha'e at Kumukahi; it is "The Gateway of the Sun at Kumukahi", where the sun rises at the First Source. We will find ancient “season measuring stones” that create a gateway that measures the solstices and equinoxes. We will be learning the sacred chant or Oli, "E Ala E" (Awaken, Go on Your Path) as our offerings to this sacred site, spiritual guardians and the ancient ones buried there. We will visit Ku Ki'i (Standing Image) Heiau (Temple), an ancient Navigational Heiau. We will visit a huge volcanic crater called Ka Lua Wai A Pele (the Pit of Fresh Water of Pele). It contains a lake, one of only two fresh water lakes on the Big Island. Additionally, we will also see Pu'u Ha'e Ha'e (the hill of the Gateway of the Sun). It is at the utmost rim of the crater (shield cone). This place gives a great view of the whole area and contains the First Migration Heiau built by the Marqueasan people (mystical Menehume people). We will visit the beautiful, connecting and most sacred, Kahuwai (Source of Water), a Marqueasan First Migration Village with intact stone canoe sheds, trail system, ramps, men's compound, woman's compound and "Hale Pe'a" or menstrual and birthing house and ancient burial mounds and symbolic rocks. This area is very sacred, it is physically and spiritually protected, the only way to access this site is through sacred protocols, spiritual permission and the guidance of Hawaiian Elders such as Aunty Lynda. We will be learning a sacred chant or Oli, "He Lei HiwaHiwa Na Kupuna" as our offerings to honor this sacred site, the ancient peoples and the "iwi kupuna" (bones of the elders) buried there. We will end this delightful and powerful adventure with a swim at the geothermal heated ponds called Wai Hapa Wela 'O Pele.

Deposits and Course Registration

The “Quantum Leap in Paradise” Full Package price ranges from a very affordable five day Hawaiian Resort experience of $1305 to $2235 for Kalani’s finest private accommodation. SPACE IS LIMITED. Please make your deposit as soon as possible to guarantee your desired accommodations. Deposit is one half of your chosen package. It is required at registration and the remaining balance be paid in full by March 5, 2011. If paid in full by January 15, 2011 you will receive the early bird discount of $100 off your package price. 

Adding additional days before and/or after the “Quantum Leap in Paradise” five day event is possible and depends of Kalani Ocean Retreat availability. To receive the seminar price you must pay for the additional days at the time of registration.

Cancellation Policy

If cancellation becomes necessary for you, 20% of your initial deposit is non-refundable; however it is transferable if cancellation occurs before February 19, 2011 to future Dr. Suzan Rossi or Quickening, Accelerated Conscious Evolution (ACE) courses, intensives or programs. The remainder of your deposit will be returned to you in 30 business days of your written request. If the “Quantum Leap in Paradise” Hawaiian event is cancelled for any reason your deposits may be reimbursed in full within 30 business days, with a charge of $50 processing fee, or the funds can be transferred to a future Dr. Rossi or Quickening event with no processing fee.

Special Dietary Needs

We must have your special diet requirements by February 1, 2011 so that the Kalani chefs have the time to order what they need to properly create for you.
